Parature itself is a SaaS-based software company and its award-winning customer service software can generate hundreds and even thousands of reports by itself. The Parature team also uses a lot other Web-based software services such as (i) Salesforce.com by the Sales Team of Parature; (ii) Facebook and Twitter by the Marketing Team with various feeds and social media statistics and reports; (iii) Blogs updates and keywords search results from Google (iv) and many other internal and external Web services. It is imperative to be able to easily monitor these dynamic information from a wide spectrum of sources on-demand without any programming or installing any software. Furthermore, SaaS software such as Salesforce.com requires user first login, and then requires multiple end-user steps to generate a report. If the user's web session remains inactive for about a few minutes, the session will time out and force the user to login again and repeat all the steps again for each report. The situation gets drastically worse if the users need to monitor multiple reports from multiple Web sources on a regular basis.

Parature likes to install large LCD displays on the walls of their offices and in the lobbies at various locations (Washington DC, San Francisco etc. and have the LCDs automatically display live information dynamically. Their reporting/monitoring console requirements are:

(1) it should allow them to cherry pick any part of any live screen or reports from any source they have access to, internal or external, without the need to install any software, and not be limited to just displaying the whole screen , but be able to pinpoint a specific region of any screen so multiple objects can fit onto the visible area of the LCD

(2) can display information in a dashboard layout that automatically updates itself

(3) never times out the web session of each logged-in web service

(4) can do slideshow of a large number of dashboard pages, with each containing multiple live objects such as reports from disparate sources as generated in requirement (1) above

(5) should be visual, extremely easy to use, and be flexible enough to make any change without any programming or complicated configuration

(6) no need to share their confidential login credentials to a third-party software

After extensive research and analysis of various products and Web services available, Parature decided to deploy SitScape's on-demand Monitoring Console Solution based on our situational dashboard product. Without installing any software or sharing any of their login credentials such as user IDs and passwords to Salesforce.com or internal systems and with only a Web-browser, the Parature team was able to have their first dynamic console up and running on a large LCD within 10 minutes. Since then, they have expanded their deployment to their other offices and have been making changes to various monitoring consoles as needed in seconds. The Web-based Monitoring Consoles on the LCDs now bring visibility of key information from a large number of silo-ed sources right to the employee of Parature, day in and day out, and drastically improved their business without requiring any additional computer hardware or software.
